1999-2000 HIGHLIGHTS
Beethoven 2000
Last spring, The Orion String Quartet was featured in the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's remarkable BEETHOVEN 2000 project, a series of concerts intended as a gift of music to New York City. On May 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, and 23, the Orionsl presented Beethoven's complete, monumental string quartet cycle at Lincoln Center, free to the public. The Quartet helped
conceive of the idea where each concert celebrated a different charitable
organization in New York City that benefits children within their communities.
